This image will always have great meaning to me.  My Mother recently passed away, and I was particularly despondent on Easter morning, so I decided to take refuge in nature.  Within fifteen minutes God allowed me to discover an inactive Black Swallowtail on this cloudy, dreary day.  I was even able to use a reflector on the insect, which they usually don't tolerate very well.  I have made some very wonderful finds lately in nature which seem to communicate that things will eventually get better.

I was purely delighted when I found this dragonfly clinging on a Mexican Hat flower!  I have been lucky to discover dew-laden dragonflies, but not one in such an extremely pleasant setting as such.

Three weeks previous to this shoot, I was experiencing a "photography slump."  I was extremely elated when I discovered this dragonfly in a peaceful meadow!  I tried different compositions, but this image seems to convey the sense of tranquility I felt.
